In symposium 89,Seyed Mehdi Alan, one of Asynsteel engineering'member represent an article" Thermo-Mechanical Analysis of the PDC equipment using finite element method" that is published in Proceedings of Steel Symposium89.

In this paper, the result of numerical analyze of PDC (Product Discharge Chamber) equipment from steel's direct reduction plant, using finite element method, is presented. In order to do this, the geometric modeling of the equipment, including all important details is done in ABAQUS software. In the next step, the property of the materials used in construction of PDC, are added to the model. After that, all simulated mechanical and thermal loads are applied and then the model is meshed by more than 60,000 coupled thermo-structural elements. Finally, analyses are done under the steady-state conditions and the result was that the PDC equipment works safely with a safety factor of 1.43 under all applied loads.
